Happy Monday!

In the week since we announced we’re moving back to six-day-a-week print publication I’ve received a lot of positive email from readers about the decision. A lot. You clearly care about the paper and the community. You’ve also sent along many excellent suggestions about what you’d like to see in the paper. I hope you like what we’ve done so far. And some suggestions — like bringing back property transactions for Athol and other communities in Worcester County — we’re still working on and hope to have back in the paper soon. Please keep your suggestions coming to And if there are voices in the community you’d like to hear from, let us know who they are.

Some features will be in different places, and some content that you’re used to seeing during the week you’ll find in The Source, our weekly publication focusing on Athol area community news. And you’ll be seeing additional youth sports, a bigger puzzles and comics section, food, gardening, religion, outdoors, arts and entertainment coverage, and an expanded weather feature, along with more regional and national news, every day.

We’re still working out the bugs — for example, today’s TV grid is missing. We’ll have it for tomorrow.

So thanks for reading the paper, and please don’t forget to shop local and visit our advertisers!
