Orange Police Log: June 16, 2020

Tuesday, June 16

7:13 a.m. — Caller reporting a stolen motorcycle, Pleasant Street. Registered owner advising his GPS on the motorcycle is mapping in the area. Officer en route to location. Negative status.

7:32 a.m. — Burglar alarm, Dexter Street. Officer responded and found to be accidental and all set.

8:09 a.m. — Set of keys found in mail slot, East Main Street. Keys were returned.

8:56 a.m. — Party requests an officer to help him file a 209A, Chase Street. Party came to the station and filled out the paper and it was submitted.

10:12 a.m. — Caller reports he accidentally left a really nice stainless steel shovel behind on June 11, Lake Mattawa Beach. He went back and it was gone. Advised to call OHD.

10:51 a.m. — Male party advising that dashboard had been ripped out of his truck sometime within the last month, New Athol Road. Incident under investigation.

1:41 p.m. — Orange FD reports a motor vehicle lockout and vehicle is running, East Main Street. Officer responded and entry gained.

4:19 p.m. — Officer out looking for a subject per request of APD, Briggs Street. APD advised of findings.

5:15 p.m. — Received a 209A application from Greenfield District Court, East River Street. Spoke with on call judge who denied the order. Called party back to let her know this and she claimed to have custody of the child. After speaking with both parties, he will give her a call and try to have a civil conversation with her about the child.

6:05 p.m. — Party called the station as his next door neighbor lit off some fireworks and when he said something to him he threatened to burn down his house, Sandra Drive. Spoke with the reporting party who would like this logged and to have an officer speak with the neighbor. The neighbor would not answer the door. The reporting party was advised and to call back if there are any further issues.

6:09 p.m. — Control reports party would like a return call, East River Street. Spoke with the reporting party who said subject has not called her. Called subject again and he said he will give her a call.

7:30 p.m. — Report of a drug deal going down, Chase Street. Female there to pick up daughter who lives there.

8:35 p.m. — Report of a large pig walking in the road, North Main Street. Officer flagged over by the owner. On arrival the pig was back home.

11:09 p.m. — Party calling about seeing a person with a headlamp in the junkyard and there is a car parked near the Wheelerville Club, Brookside Road. Reporting party called back and advised he saw a male come out of the woods and get into the vehicle and take off toward Walmart. Officers responded and checked the area. Officers located questioned vehicle and two male parties. No stolen items found. Officers informed junk yard owner. He advised under circumstances he was not going to pursue anything. Parties’ information was taken and were sent on their way.
