Mohawk Trail Regional High School received approval to participate in the Fall II sports season during its school committee meeting on Wednesday night.

The Warriors began practice on Thursday.

Mohawk Trail was the final school in the Franklin County bubble to receive approval to compete during the Fall II season, which runs until April 24.

“We’re looking forward to getting out there today and getting the season started,” Mohawk Trail athletic director Greg Vouros said on Thursday.

Boys soccer, girls volleyball and indoor track & field will be offered during the Fall II season at Mohawk Trail. The Warriors are part of a cooperative program with Greenfield for football.

Vouros said Mohawk Trail won’t be offering girls soccer due to low numbers this year.

While volleyball is set to begin in the Franklin County bubble on March 17, the Warriors pushed back their opening match a week to March 22, when they’ll take on Pioneer.

The boys soccer team is set to open its season on March 30 against Frontier.

The boys soccer team had the best season in program history in 2019, winning its first-ever postseason game with a 4-3 win over McCann Tech in the Western Mass. Div. 4 Tournament.
