Orange, July 1

6:48 p.m. — Request for a phone call regarding a drone flying over a house on Memory Lane. Call returned. Advised to call if the drone appears again.

6:59 p.m. — Caller on Pleasant Street reports six raccoons living in her attic. She just watched them go up the stairs. Info passed on to animal control officer, who advised she will call the reporting party and give her the number of someone who handles raccoon issues.

10:24 p.m. — Caller advises he delivered a pizza to Prospect Street and the party answered the door with a 2x4 and appeared to be drunk and then threatened to get his gun, not wanting to pay for his pizza. Reporting party would like to speak with an officer.

Greenfield, July 2

10:53 a.m. — Report of an incident involving a missing person. Officer to investigate. Took report. Same already reported, missing person has still not returned.

12:39 p.m. — Caller reporting an encampment on Water Street.

Montague, July 2

11:40 a.m. — Reporting party requests to speak with an officer about a juvenile who has not been home since Sunday, June 30. The juvenile is believed to be staying with someone in Turners Falls.

9:20 p.m. — Caller on Newton Street states there are several bikes that have been left behind the property. Caller believes they may have been stolen by a former tenant.

Orange, July 2

1:19 a.m. — Fireworks going off on West Main Street. Officers spoke to the individuals setting off fireworks and advised them that it was illegal, irresponsible and unacceptable to be setting off fireworks at 1 in the morning. Parties advised they would not be doing it again.

8:50 p.m. — Suspicious vehicle. Black Honda Accord. Three to four men. One got out of the vehicle, looked inside the caller’s vehicle and got back in his own vehicle. Driver’s side passenger may have had a gun. Same was last seen headed toward the center of town. The area was searched with no contact. No plate information was provided.

Greenfield, July 3

9:10 a.m. — Report of a shoplifting incident at Aubuchon Hardware at 312 Federal St. Porter-Cable four-piece power tool set valued at $240 taken.

9:41 a.m. — Caller on Water Street would like to speak with an officer regarding the homeless problem in her neighborhood. Spoke with caller who wanted to know why all the homeless can’t “go back to living in the jungle” and not in her backyard. She was advised. She is also missing a large black cat. Animal control officer advised. Will check the area for tents.

Greenfield, July 4

1:04 p.m. — Report of people setting up swimming areas near the bridge work. Located eight youths sliding down the spillway/slide. This area is fenced off due to construction on the bridge. All advised they were trespassing and returned to family in the park. All advised if they return they could be charged.

10:29 p.m. — One-car motor-vehicle crash. No injuries. Vehicle hit a mailbox at Buckley HealthCare Center at 95 Laurel St.

Montague, July 4

3:08 p.m. — Caller reporting there is a possible cobra snake on their grandmother’s gravesite. Caller is concerned and doesn’t want anyone to get bit. Reports the snake has a flat head. Officer Joshua Dobosz advised the snake has been moved along.

7:27 p.m. — Caller near the Bridge of Names reports they were bit on the leg by a dog and have some bite marks. AMR ambulance is responding. Officer Joshua Dobosz advised he will speak to the owner of the dog. Dobosz advised the dog is quarantined for 10 days. Called and left message advising animal control officer of call.

7:54 p.m. — Caller on 3rd Street reports hearing fireworks going off in the area. Reporting party concerned due to close proximity to the house. Sgt. John Dempsey advised. Dempsey advised he checked the area and nothing was found.

8:45 p.m. — Caller on Vladish Avenue reporting a neighbor is shooting off fireworks and they are concerned they are going to end up in their pool. Officer Joshua Dobosz spoke with neighbor and advised them to stop.

9:16 p.m. — Caller reporting a large display of fireworks going off and believes it’s in the area of the gravel pit near Route 63 before Gunn Road.

9:19 p.m. — Caller in the area of Federal Street reporting fireworks going off and scaring their horses. Officer Joshua Dobosz advised nothing showing in the area.

9:44 p.m. — Caller near the alleyway of 3rd and 4th streets reporting fireworks are going off and said son is upset. Officer Joshua Dobosz advised he checked both sides of the alleyway with nothing showing.

10:24 p.m. — Caller near Bridge Street reporting fireworks are going off. Sgt. John Dempsey advised.

10:45 p.m. — Caller by the old Robin Crest Stables reporting fireworks going off and the horses are running crazy.
