Bulletin board: Post 81 American Legion tryouts begin this weekend

The Post 81 American Legion baseball team, which features both a senior and junior squad, will be holding registration and tryouts on May 6, 7 and 13, all taking place at 1 p.m. at Vets Field in Greenfield. 

The senior team is for those who are 19 and under by Dec. 31, 2023 while the juniors must be 17 and under by Dec. 31, 2023. Players from all Franklin County schools are eligible to try out, and those from previous Post 81 teams must still try out to be eligible. Players are asked to bring a glove, cleats and their original birth certificate.

Top Notch Camp

Top Notch Summer Camp Series is holding its camp this June and July at Frontier High School. 

The all-girls basketball camp will run from June 26-30. Top Notch will also host two all sports camps, the first running from July 17-21 and the second from July 24-28.

Sue Plante took first in the Patty Berg Flight with a score of 16 in a Putt for Points contest in the 9 Hole Women’s League at the Country Club of Greenfield on Tuesday. 

TC Emerson won the Nancy Lopez Flight (22), Karen Duclos took the Lorena Ochoa Flight (13), Marley Balasco came in first in the Joanna Carner Flight (10), Wanda Pyfrom took the Annika Sorenstom Flight (12) and Brenda Dedinas won the Michelle Wie Flight (8).
