Bulletin Board: Andy Lesenski, Cody Booska in first place after Day 1 of Massachusetts Four-Ball Championship

The first round of the 42nd Massachusetts Four-Ball Championship got underway on Tuesday, with groups teeing off at either the Bayberry Hills Golf Club and the Hyannisport Club.

In Hyannis, a pair of locals put themselves in a great position heading into Wednesday’s second round. 

Andy Lesenski of the Country Club of Greenfield and Cody Booska of Crumpin-Fox Club finished the opening round in sole possession of first place, carding a 9-under 62 at the Hyannisport Club. Thomas Harrison and Steven Tasho sit in second at 8-under, with that pairing playing at Bayberry on Tuesday. 

The second round will tee off on Wednesday, with each pairing teeing up at the opposite club it played on Tuesday. 

Michael Mertes of Wyckoff Country Club and Ronald Laverdiere of Crumpin-Fox played their opening round at Bayberry,shooting 3-under to enter Wednesday tied for 42nd. Justin Dion and Keith Burch of Crumpin-Fox also shot 3-under at Bayberry to sit tied for 42nd. Mark Waskiewicz and Troy Miller of Crumpin-Fox sit tied for 118th after carding an even-par score of 72 at Bayberry.

Chris Eugin and Annie Lasek tied for first in the Patty Berg Flight with scores of 24 in a Best 6 Holes contest in the 9 Hole Women’s League at the Country Club of Greenfield on Tuesday. 

Jane Smith won the Nancy Lopez Flight (27), Karen Duclos took the Lorena Ochoa Flight (33), Marley Balasco won the Joanna Carner Flight (25), Ann Corrinet took first in the Annika Sorenstom Flight (28) while Kasey Herbert came in first in the Michelle Wie Flight (34).

Elyse Reardon knocked three hits while Emma Reardon and Ella Worden both had a hit for Freedom. 

■ Charley Deane tallied four hits while Lyla Burek and Kendall Bernard both had three hits as Gilmore and Farrell beat Greenfield Elks, 4-0, on Tuesday. 

Paisley Beck had two hits for Elks. 

■ Also on Tuesday Makenna Ward, Adie Aber crombie and Alissa B atistonni each had three hits while Zoey Lively knocked two hits in Pristine Oriental’s 11-3 win over Franklin First. 

Dani Zraunig knocked three hits while Adeline Ebbinghausen and Grace Hickey both had a hit for Franklin.
