Athol Police Log: Sept. 10, 2020

Thursday, Sept. 10

6:24 a.m. — Caller reporting that their dog was struck by a vehicle and they need assistance getting it out of the road, Conant Road. Officer is requesting ACO to the scene. ACO notified. ACO en route to Wachusett.

7:13 a.m. — Caller states possible dead beaver in the area causing a traffic hazard, South Athol Road. Reporting party concerned the homeowner is going to try to move it and due to being elderly will get hurt. Dead porcupine, off to the shoulder.

7:33 a.m. — Caller states wire hanging in the road, over the fence and into a tree, Ridge Avenue. Officer checked, no issues.

8:06 a.m. — Building inspector located basement door kicked in, Petersham Road. Requesting assistance with checking house. House clear, building inspector to call the bank to secure.

8:19 a.m. — Officer reports passerby states dog in and out of traffic, Main and Pleasant streets. Unable to locate.

8:40 a.m. — Officer located loose dog, Main and Pleasant streets. Located owner, dog broke his leash.

11:13 a.m. — Detective executing a search warrant, Exchange Street.

12:13 p.m. — Caller states motor vehicle is running with the windows down and two kids in the car, Reservoir Drive. Looks like a 5-year-old male and a female in a car seat. Has been there about five minutes with no adult in the area. There was a 14-year-old in the third-row seat, no issues.

1:52 p.m. — Walk-in to speak with an officer about past accident, Morton Meadows. Operator of the other vehicle won’t speak to her. Reporting party states her vehicle was struck a few days prior; however, she did not observe any damage at the time. Reporting party has since determined that there was damage to the undercarriage as a result of the other vehicle striking hers.

2:38 p.m. — Caller states she was at Athol Hospital’s top parking lot, left after her appointment and when she got back to work noticed someone hit her car, Main Street. Called reporting party, she was there between 1:30 and 2:10 p.m., will be reviewing footage with hospital Security.

3:41 p.m. — Caller reporting a young male party on a yellow scooter with a green helmet rode out into the middle of the roadway without looking and then proceeded to drive down the middle of the road, South Athol Road. Unable to locate.

4:15 p.m. — 911 caller stated that her son was assaulted by two male parties that walked right into her house and into her son’s room and hit him and then walked out, Main Street. Reporting party stated that her son knows who the parties involved are. Incident under investigation.

4:41 p.m. — Disabled motor vehicle, Tunnel Street. Dale’s is already on scene.

4:55 p.m. — 911 caller reporting he is being verbally attacked and threatened, Pleasant Street.

5:28 p.m. — Caller reporting three female parties possibly dumping soap in the Veterans fountain, Main and Exchange streets. Checked the fountain which appeared to have been vandalized with soap. Checked area, parties were gone on arrival. DPW was advised.

8:03 p.m. — Caller reporting people screaming and yelling, Pleasant Street. Verbal only. Both parties agreed to stay separated for the night.

9:27 p.m. — Officer checking a building, Main Street. Made contact with party who was downloading app on WiFi. Sent on way.

9:43 p.m. — Caller reporting his stepdad is watching his house for the night and there is a female at his house that he does not want there and wants her removed, South Street. Sent party on way. Reporting party was advised of same.

11:33 p.m. — Officer out with a vehicle, Main Street. Female party was asleep with her windows down in the parking lot. Female was on her way home to Conn. when she stopped and fell asleep. Operator was sent on way.
