Athol Police Log: March 14-15

12:10 a.m. — Suspicious activity, Maple and Canal streets. Report of 5’6” light skinned, possibly hispanic male wearing a thick jacket and dark clothes, chasing a gold sedan up the road. Area checked, negative contact.

8:44 a.m. — Suspicious activity, Fielding Way; passerby reported a few headstones on the ground. Officer checked; appears the ground settling beneath the base calling to fall over. 8:52 a.m. — Welfare check, Crescent Street. Female was out.

10:08 a.m. — Officer spoke with parent regarding her child harassing another student, Chestnut Street.

10:40 a.m. — Motor vehicle complaint from bus company, South Main street. Attempted to make contact with party involved; residence vacant.

10:46 a.m. — Suspicious person, Exchange Street. Report of a male, long black hair in ponytail, carrying backpack going through dumpster. Sent on way.

11:19 a.m. — Property returned; two cell phones from drug task force search warrant.

11:24 a.m. — Ambulance to Adams Drive for 63-year-old male who fell outside.

11:45 a.m. — Party reports while trying to clean out donations bin, a white male was found living inside the in. He was asked to leave but refuses, Main Street. Party not around on arrival of police.

11:59 a.m. — Emergency room calling for a male party in the parking lot having a seizure.

1:05 p.m. — Athol assisted other agency, Riceville Road.

1:13 p.m. — Medical emergency, Main street. Ambulance requested on fire department line; psych evaluation.

1:27 p.m. — Laurel Street party reporting dirt bikes riding up and down road without helmets. Officer will continue to be on the lookout.

2:01 p.m. — Westminster Police Department requesting welfare check, Essex Street. Made contact with a resident in the building who stated he has no knowledge of the person in question living there.

3:26 p.m. — High Street caller requesting officer assistance for custody issues.

4:04 p.m. — Caller saw black Volkswagen pass school bus that had lights on, Brookside Road.

4:18 p.m. — Officer attempted to serve paperwork, High Knob Road.

4:28 p.m. — Accident, hit and run, Cottage Street. A vehicle owned by Dylan M. Burgess,  Main Road, Phillipston, was hit while at work. Report taken.

5:55 p.m. — Walk-in would like to speak to an officer about the other tenants in her apartment building taking things from her while she is sleeping, Pleasant Street. Party was provided courtesy transport to residence.

7:05 p.m. — Officer out with a box truck in the middle of the road, Main and School streets, owned by Penske Truck Leasing of Reading, and operated by Melissa M. Glazier of Oak Street, Gill. Officer advising station to notify National Grid that the box is almost completely ripped off the pole with live wires showing. National grid on scene. No further information available from police.

8:33 p.m. — Written warning for motorist taking a left hand turn where prohibited, Templeton Road.

9 p.m. — Report of back door to the old bowling alley open, Main Street. Found rear door adjar, keyholder notified.

9:29 p.m. — Ambulance to Main Street for male party that is unresponsive.

9:56 p.m. — Disabled vehicle, School Street.

1:28 a.m. — Investigated a wire hanging down into the road, Wilson Avenue. Found to be protective coating on the fire alarm cable. Removed from roadway by officer.

1:21 a.m. — Marble Street caller reporting a lot of yelling and screaming from neighboring apartment. Both subjects told to quiet down for the night.

2:31 a.m. — Marble Street caller reporting yelling and screaming from neighboring apartment.

3:29 a.m. — Ambulance requested for adult female with leg pain, Concord Street. Transported to hospital.
