Orange Police Log: June 13

Thursday, June 13

8:05 a.m. — Report of vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed down Pleasant Street. Gone on arrival.

9:07 a.m. — Catholic Charities requesting welfare check on a party on East Main Street. Advises they have been unable to make contact with her or any of her emergency contacts. Vehicle is not in the driveway. Neighbors spoken with. No further action required.

1:52 p.m. — Mayo Road caller asked to speak with officer about a telephone pole that was struck recently and potentially going to fall over and take down power lines.

2:50 p.m. — Caller requests officer check on her daughter and have her call her, East River Street. Caller states she has her car and she would like to discuss things with her before reporting the car used without authorization. Officer spoke with female who advised she had been in contact with her mother all day. Stated she would call her mother back.

3:46 p.m. — Motorist given verbal warning for inspection status, East River Street.

5:32 p.m. — Caller reporting tree down blocking Pine Hill Road. No wires involved. Requested highway department for large oak limb that will need to be cut up and removed. Will remove ASAP.

6:09 p.m. — Officer wanted, Dewey Conrad Avenue. Second call from party advising about three minutes ago the neighbor’s two pitbulls went after his sister. Ongoing issue. Party advises she came home and brought her dogs out. States her neighbor has an issue with her and her dogs and saw her outside. Party states the neighbor brought her puppies over toward where she was, causing issues with the dogs. Officer spoke with both parties, and advised each to be mindful of one another and keep control of their dogs. Also reminded of leash law.

6:32 p.m. — Caller advises female party left Walmart refusing to come back into the store, in a four-door Tacoma pickup with New York plates heading toward Orange. At 6:57 p.m., officer responding to Athol area of Market Basket where Athol Police has that vehicle stopped. Female was arrested by Athol Police. Officers reviewed footage from Walmart and able to determine that the female involved was observed stealing hair products. Athol arrested the subject on unrelated charges. Party was no longer in possession of the stolen item.
