Orange Police Log: Nov 5

Tuesday, Nov. 5

7:52 a.m. — Report from parking lot on East Main Street of two people fighting outside a blue car. Officers spoke with both parties involved. Situation mediated.

10 a.m. — Report of car off the road, Daniel Shays Highway. Party does not appear injured, however the vehicle is over the embankment. State police responded. Ambulance requested; vehicle towed.

11:04 a.m. — National Grid advised of a tree top on wires, Chestnut Hill Road. National Grid contacted.

2:37 p.m. — Caller requested officer for a hit and run in the parking lot, New Athol Road. On arrival, damage noted. Attempted to make contact with the elderly driver, negative. Will follow up.

3:31 p.m. — Officer responded to a West Orange Road for a report of a past breaking and entering into a garage. Spoke with homeowner who will make a list of items taken. Extra patrols requested. Incident under investigation.

7:05 p.m. — Mechanic Street, breaking and entering. Caller states someone entered her house and let the dogs out of the crate. She said nothing was missing from the apartment but one of her dogs was released from crate and she thought it was suspicious. No signs of forced entry.

7:33 p.m. — Caller reporting male party in a reflective vest and a beard trying to stop traffic, Stone Valley Road. Asked that someone check on him. Officers located party walking in the roadway. He said he was trying to slow down speeding vehicles. He was sent on way and advised to contact the police if there are concerns with traffic.

8:08 p.m. — Noise complaint, East Main Street. Caller states they are being loud in the package store. It is disturbing him and is an ongoing issue. Upon arrival the radio was at a low volume. The clerk shut it off.

Wednesday, Nov. 6

12:34 a.m. — Caller states she told subject she was leaving their friend’s house. Male left as well, possibly upset, was extremely intoxicated, fell off his bike and is now on foot stumbling around by the old taxi stand. Second call from subject advising party has been kicking her apartment door and throwing rocks at her window. Caller believes party is in the apartment next door. Caller asking if police can PC the subject so he will stop bothering her tonight. Caller also advised that he was announcing himself as the Orange Police Department as he was knocking. Unable to locate party.
