Orange Police Log: June 11

Tuesday, June 11

 9 a.m. — Rogers Avenue; caller looking to speak with officer about property that subject claims she has. Said she does not have the property and that her friend took it all.

9:10 a.m. — South Main Street; bear sighting.

10 a.m. — Officer stood by at East Main Street address while board of health attempted to serve a warrant to enter the property for inspection purposes. Board of health and building department will follow up with the court.

11:14 a.m. — Report of minor motor vehicle accident in the courthouse parking lot, South Main Street. Operator struck a parked vehicle as it attempted to pull into a parking space. Owner of the other vehicle was notified; damage under $1,000.

11:42 a.m. — Caller requested officer to stand by and keep the peace while he speaks with a tenant that is in the process of moving out as he can become belligerent. Done.

1:30 p.m. — School resource officer following up on welfare check request; 51-A filed, South Main Street.

2:19 p.m. — Fairman Road caller requests officer for dispute between tenants. No disturbance; found to be property issue between the landlord and downstairs tenant.

2:40 p.m. — Request to keep the peace, East Main Street. Both units responded and found subject had changed the locks and reporting party wants a key as it is his building, too. Caller stated he has court Thursday and to talk with the judge about this.

3:28 p.m. — Opossum trapped between the doors at the Castle Rock Police Department, South Main Street. Same will be allowed to hang out until it gets dark. It is able to get in and out between the doors.

3:41 p.m. — Party calling on behalf of another reporting the downstairs tenant has stolen a white chair, Fairman Road.

4:07 p.m. — Caller reporting her van was hit while she was in the store, East Main Street. A note was left with the other operator’s information. Officer viewed the security camera and confirmed the crash, then called the other party and explained the accident report process.

4:58 p.m. — Cheney Street; caller reporting while walking his dog on Cheney Street a white male approached and the dog lunged at him at which time the white male, early 30s, short red hair, sunglasses, wearing a white hoodie sweater made a statement and then pulled what looked like a black .38 Special from his waistband. The caller stated the male entered a white house on Cheney Street. Officers checked area; and report taken.

5:54 p.m. — Victim notification, Mechanic Street. Request for Orange Police to notify party that a subject is being released from their facility tonight. The victim stated she has a restraining order on the other party and was wondering if he’s been served. Checked and determined that the party has been served.

8:05 p.m. — Chase Street party received a call advising subject has stolen the second TV from him and he’s getting sick of it. The reporting party is now calling from his residence but did state he was heading back home and threatened to beat subject with a baseball bat. Officers responded and spoke with all involved parties. As this is an ongoing issue, officer advised reporting party to take the property actions this time. Trespass order and complaint with the court was explained.

8:55 p.m. — Walk-in party to report her friend’s vehicle was hit Sunday night, East Myrtle Street. They were going to work it out with subject, but that has not been working. Their motor vehicle was backed into by subject. Damage noted to rear trunk area. Advised them that subject had called Sunday night and that their account will be recorded tonight and to follow up with the insurance company.

9:41 p.m. — Harassment, Glenwood Avenue. Party calling for his wife who has been receiving strange threatening text messages from party that she does not know well and believes lives in Vermont. They believe he owns weapons and has a history of mental health issues. Requested officer to view the text as there is more to it. Officer spoke with party and explained 258E order as well as options in regard to harassment. Texts spoke of party coming to her workplace tomorrow and that he was upset with party for comparing his looks to a subject. Reporting party will let employment know about this and call the police if he shows up there.

11:02 p.m. — Caller reporting drunk driver all over the road, Route 2. Arrested Scott Losier, 49, of Main Street, Berlin, NH, in Erving on charges of operating under the influence of drugs, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, possession of  Class C drug (Klonopin), failure to stop for police officer, marked lanes violation. Transported to House of Correction.
