Letter to the Editor:

On behalf of the staff and board of directors at the Gardner-based Montachusett Veterans Outreach Center, I would like to sincerely thank Mr. Richard Gagnon of Athol, a Korean War U.S. Navy veteran who served four years aboard the USS Salem, for his extremely generous contribution to our organization.

For the fourth consecutive year, Mr. Gagnon has committed to personally donating 10% of the total amount raised by the annual Athol Daily News Santa Fund. MVOC recently received a check in the amount of $1,360 from Mr. Gagnon to support our mission.

The Montachusett Veterans Outreach Center, in its 36th year of operation, provides a variety of services to area veterans and their families to include housing, counseling, outreach and transportation services. On an annual basis we provide services to over 1,000 veterans and families and we continue to grow each year. As a non-profit organization support from private citizens is critical to allow us to accomplish our mission year in and year out.

I cannot thank Mr. Gagnon enough for his steadfast support of MVOC-his effort will make an immediate and positive impact on our daily operation. We look forward to continuing our relationship with him in the years to come.

Best regards,

Charles A. Murphy
