7:30-9:30 p.m. — The Spontaneous Spoons present, “A Spoonful of Revenge” an original interactive murder mystery comedy, at the Athol Public Library, 568 Main St., Athol. (Also on Thursday, Aug. 15). Appropriate for ages 13 and older. Registration required: 978-249-9515.

2-4 p.m. — Orange Historical Society, 41 North Main St.,, Orange is open for tours of its three-story house and barn, or by appointment 978-544-3141.

5-8 p.m. — Artist’s opening at Stage on Main, 17 South Main St., Orange. Artist Shali Sanders works will be on display in the gallery.

5:30-7 p.m. — Parent Connection (Support Group for all parents): Every 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month at Valuing Our Children’s North Quabbin Patch and Family Resource Center, 109 Lumber St., Athol. Contact Michael Valliere: 978-249-5070. 

Friday, Aug. 16

9:30-Noon — Story Walk® sponsored by Valuing Our Children. Sign boards with pages from books on them are set up along Millers River Park for participants to read at their own pace. Afterward, participants can do a fun activity in the Children's Library. No registration. All ages can participate.

3-6 p.m. — Petersham Friday Market provides fresh locally grown food, craft vendors, information from health care and social service groups and live music on the town common. Music provided this week by Sons of Blarney. For information call Roy Nilson 978-724-6662 or email to

6 p.m. — Tanglewood Marionettes perform “Perseus & Medusa” at the Barre Town Hall, 40 West St., Barre. Meet and greet with the puppets at 5:30. Registration required for a puppet manipulation workshop 978-355-2504.
