Saturday, October 27

CANCELED – The 11th Annual Shred Event hosted by the Athol Savings Bank scheduled for today has been postponed, due to inclement weather, to Saturday, Nov. 17, from 9-11 a.m. in the parking lot of 444 Main St., Athol. The event is open to all and there is a 10-box maximum per person/business.

7-10 a.m. — All you can eat breakfast, Athol Congregational Church, Uptown common. Adults: $6, children under 10 $3.

9 a.m. to 4 p.m. — Harvest Fair, St. Vincent de Paul Church, Forrest Street. Traditional church fair, booths, theme baskets, food, arts and crafts, raffles. Ample parking. Rain or shine.

10 a.m - 5 p.m. — Hunt Farm Corn Maze (Behind Herrick’s Tavern), Daniel Shays Highway, Orange. Adult and kids mazes available. Adults $10; children 4-12 $7; ages 3 and under free.

11 a.m. to noon — Family Saturdays at Skyfields Arboretum, 1461 Old Keene Rd., Athol. Educational family program for children ages 4-8 left by Jess Tierney. Spiders Nature Walk and craft. Dress for outdoor fun. Info: 978-248-2055.

1-4 p.m. — Trunk or Treat at the Crossroads Church, 109 Lumber St., Unit 2 (at the Baxter Chiropractic building). Dress up and bring your family. Candy, games, snacks, fun and prizes. Bring decorated/carved pumpkins for the contest to win prizes. Rain or shine. (Held inside in case of inclement weather.)

3 p.m. — Athol Cinemas 8 First Trunk or Treat, in the cinema parking lot, 265 Reservoir Drive, Athol. Cars begin to arrive at 3 p.m. in the event section. Trunk or Treating will be from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Bring individually wrapped candy to hand out. Prizes awarded to Most Creative Trunk, Scariest Trunk, Most Humorous and Beest Movie Themed. There will be games for children who arrive early.

 5:30 p.m. — Annual Tully City Council Halloween party for the children of Tully and North Orange, as well as members’ children and grandchildren, starts with a parade from the old Tully Fire Station to the club at 365 Tully Road. If it rains, go directly to the club.

5:30-8:30 — Halloween Dance Party, to benefit the Victoria Rose Scholarship Fund, at the Dance Studio, 34 North Main St., Orange. Costumes are welcome. Candy, games, crafts, pizza, dancing and more. 6:30 p.m. —  Fete of Food & Wine hosted by the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation’s New England Chapter at the Museum of Fine Arts, 465 Huntington Ave, Boston. The event will honor Leslie Higuchi, MD, MPH, as Humanitarian of the Year and Ken Feinberg as 2018 Man of the Year. Features food and wine, dancing, and live music.

8-11 p.m. — Live Music with the Reprobate Blues Band, Wheelerville Community Club, 698 East Main St., Orange. Blues and classic rock ($3 cover).

Monday, October 29

10 a.m — Minority Mental Health Awareness Summit, at Mount Wachusett Community College, Gardner. Free and open to the public. Resource and community vendor fair. Luncheon at 11:30, followed by a multicultural panel on mental health.

2-8 p.m. — Final early voting day in Royalston for the Nov. 6 State Election, at the Town Clerk's Office, Whitney Hall, 5 School St. Royalston.

3:30-4:30 p.m. — LEGO Club, at the Athol Public Library:  Children in grades 1 - 5 can drop in for LEGO Club. No registration necessary. Info: 978-249-9515.

7 p.m. — Quabbin Valley Pro Musica chorus rehearsal, with Music Director Geoffrey Hudson, at the Central Congregational Church, 24 South Main St., New Salem.  Info: Harry Haldt 978-249-4691.
