Police called to Silver Lake Park for stabbing incident

ATHOL — Three people were stabbed in an incident at Silver Lake Park late Saturday night.

According to the police log, at 11:18 p.m. a 911 caller requested an ambulance for a 24-year-old who had been stabbed at the park. 

Police arrived and an officer requested an ambulance for a second stabbing victim.

The Athol Hospital reported to police they were expecting a third stabbing victim to arrive at the emergency room, and requested an officer for assistance there. The incident is under investigation.

No other details were provided. Neither the Police Chief nor Lieutenant were available on Sunday to answer questions about the incident, prior to press time.

As is recorded in the daily police logs, officers regularly patrol the park after regular operating hours (dawn to dusk) and on occasion have moved along a number of individuals from the area in recent weeks.
