The U.S. Mint debuted the first National Park quarter for this year on Feb. 4, with one honoring the Lowell (MA) National Park. This coin features a scene of a young woman working in a factory in front of a window, with a view of a mill tower in the background.

Circulation-quality coins struck at the Denver, Philadelphia, and San Francisco mints can be ordered in roll and bag quantities from the mint by visiting their website at, or calling toll free 1-800-USA-MINT.

The coin show usually held in Auburn on the second Sunday will not be held this month.

Despite the recent increase in the first class mail rate, the rate for mailing postal cards will remain at 35 cents. To facilitate this the U.S. Postal Service may issue eight stamps depicting coral reefs.

If this issue is released, it will be described in the column.
