Orange Police Log: Feb. 2, 2021

Tuesday, Feb. 2

9:00 a.m. — Received a call stating that the person who plows his neighbor’s driveway backed into his wooden retaining wall, Eagleville Road. Subject was spoken with and advised that she would speak with involved party in regards to the incident as she had a new plow driver this morning and they already have an agreement to have the damaged board from the previous incident replaced.

11:16 a.m. — Alarm company advises burglar alarm, South Main Street. Found to be set off by an employee.

11:32 a.m. — Party advises she is at the police station and she is requesting a no trespass order, Sunset Drive.

11:32 a.m. — Caller reports her front license plate was either lost or stolen over the weekend, Johnson Road.

12:20 p.m. — Check welfare, East River Street. Female party was found to be not home.

1:50 p.m. — Party states two car motor vehicle crash, tractor trailer unit and pickup, West Main Street. On arrival it was found that the tractor had slid down the driveway and wasn’t able to stop in time and a truck was passing by.

2:32 p.m. — Caller reports that on 9/20/2020 at approximately 11 a.m., her car hit a pot hole in the parking lot of River Street Market, East River Street. She ended up taking the car to Main Street Garage in Athol and found she had broken a shock and the sway bar. She spoke to the owner of River Street Market and he agreed to pay to have it fixed. She hadn’t heard anything, so she stopped today and the owner said his insurance company needed a police report. Reporting party has pictures of the damage and the repair bill from the garage. Wanted on record.

3:25 p.m. — Caller reports a loose Great Dane at the corner, Prentiss Street and Burrill Avenue. Dog gone on arrival.

5:29 p.m. — Party states that the lady in the apartment below is an elderly woman being screamed at by a male party and would like an officer to check on her well being, East River Street. Upon arrival, all was quiet. Made contact with subjects who had no issues, but said the reporting party was the one being loud.

7:42 p.m. — Party thinks he might be getting scammed, Drew Boulevard. Spoke with reporting party who said he only gave the callers the last four of his social security number and that they already had his name and address. It was explained that his name and home address are easily found online and as long as he did not give his full SSN, he should be okay. Reporting party said he has already been in contact with his bank to monitor his accounts and also called the Social Security Scam number that control provided. Reporting party called back and remembered that he had sent a picture of his license to the scammer via text. He was advised when he makes contact with the Social Security Scam number to let them know as well.
