Mahar boys place 10th, girls 16th in PVIAC championship

NORTHAMPTON — On Friday, the Mahar varsity boys’ and girls’ indoor track teams competed in the PVIAC Championship meet, with the boys’ team placing in 10th and the girls’ placing 16th.

In individual events for boys, Hugo Frost finished in eighth in the long jump with a jump of 19-11. Ash Shaw finished second in the high jump with a jump of 6-02. Aaron Hendry finished 10th in the 55-meter hurdles with a time of 8.66. Frost finished 11th in the event with a time of 8.71. Shaw finished seventh in the 600-meter run with a time of 1:28:24. Aidan Didonato finished 15th in the event with a time of 1:31:56. Sebastian Shaw finished seventh in the 1,000-meter run with a time of 2:48.57. Hendry finished eighth in the 300-meter run with a time of 37.51. The team’s 4x200 meter relay team finished 14th with a time of 1:36.62. The team’s 4x800 meter relay team finished 11th with a time of 9:02.86.

In individual events for girls, Kamryn Reilly finished sixth in the long jump with a jump of 15-10.5. Reilly also finished 13th in the high jump with a jump of 4-08. Jordyn Berry finished 14th in the same event with a jump of 4-07. Reilly finished ninth in the 55-meter dash with a time of 7.87. The team’s 4x800 meter relay team finished 16th with a time of 11:40.13.
