ATHOL — Organizers and merchants are hoping the warm and partly cloudy weather predicted for the June 7 First Friday event remains true for the family-friendly festival along Main Street. The premier event scheduled last month was canceled due to rain.

The street is closed to traffic for strolling pedestrians to shop small businesses and vendors and enjoy the spirit of the local community.

The event, which runs 4:30-7:30 p.m., includes musical entertainment by Fern & Rita, and The Can Collectors. A Gaga Court to promote Camp Wiyaka will be set up for playing a dodgeball-style game.

Thirty-six vendors are currently signed up: Deja Vu Women’s Consignments, Sweet Cottage Farm, Willow Brook Creations and a 4-H group, Tintagels Gate, Tupperware, plastic and canvas gifts and decorations, Creative Crafters, The United Arc, Friendly Town Socials & World Heritage Exchange, Monkey Factory, Quabbin Valley Healthcare, Happy Helping Hands 4-H Club, It Works Global, Lynrose Farm Essentials, Hope, Heart, Honor & Help 4-H Club, Pampered Chef, Gail’s Sparkle Squad, LUK, Inc., DayDreamersCorner, This and That Crafts, The Essentially Oiled Life (Young Living Essential Oils), Marcia Berkall Art, Bella’s Bakery, Valuing Our Children, Scrafty Custom Signs, Starrett Memorial United Methodist Church, Never Grow Up!, North Quabbin Recovery Center, Athol Credit Union, Sisters2imagineers, Xtreme Kids Program, Self, Zazrak Inc., Knights of Columbus, Hometown Realtors, and the Athol Lions Club.
