Tuesday, July 10

10 to 11 a.m. — Playgroup: Caregivers and children, from birth to 5 years old, are welcome to meet in the Children’s Library to play. No registration required. Athol Public Library.

2 p.m. — Summer Reading Program: Wild About Turtles at Petersham Memorial Library, 23 Common St. If you’ve ever wondered what turtles, eat, where they live or if they have teeth, this is the program for you. It’s free and open to all. Program includes storytelling, singing, movement and creative arts. Enjoy live box turtles, aquatic turtles and the common snapper.

Wednesday, July 11

10:15 to 11 a.m. — Preschool Story Time: Preschool age children, caregivers, and siblings can drop in to hear stories, sing, move, and craft. No registration necessary. Athol Public Library.

1 to 2 p.m. — Acrobat Li Liu: Liu will demonstrate hand balancing, plate spinning, trick cycling, foot juggling, ribbon dancing, and more. This event will take place at Memorial Hall at the Athol Town Hall. All ages are welcome, and due to a high level of interest, call the Athol Public Library to register, 978-249-9515. This program is supported by a grant from the Athol Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Mass Cultural Council, a state agency.

4 to 8 p.m. — Cruise Night at Market Basket, 147 Tower Road, Athol. Sponsored by the North Quabbin Cruisers. Rain or shine.

Thursday, July 12

11 to 11:30 a.m. — Baby and Toddler Time: Caregivers and children, from birth – 36 months old, are welcome to stop in for stories, movement, music, and play. Please register by calling the Children’s Library at 978-249-9515. Athol Public Library.

1 to 2 p.m. — Hot Wheels STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) Challenge: Children, ages 8-12 years old, can register to learn about energy, forces, and motion. Participants will work to build the fastest speedway possible while interpreting data and experimenting with variables. Science educator Paul McNiff will run the program. This program is funded in part by the Institute of Museum and Library Services and administered by the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners. Athol Public Library.

7 p.m. — Gourmet Burger and Family Fun Night, hosted by the Quabbin Valley Healthcare, 821 Daniel Shays Highway, Athol. Music, adult beverages, soft drinks and lemonade; raffles. All to raise money for the QVHC Forget Me Not Walk Team for Alzheimer’s. RSVP: 978-249-3717.

7:30 p.m. — Eric Lee, singer-songwriter, will perform folk, rock and bluegrass music, at the 1794 Meetinghouse, 26 South Main St., New Salem. Info: 413-335-3489.
