Saturday, Feb. 9

10 a.m. — Reading of “The Littlest Pet” by Bonnie Benjamin, retired Athol elementary school teacher, in the children’s room at the Athol Public Library. The book is authored by the late Deborah Fowler MacKay. Benjamin will also offer a craft program for attendees. Copies will be on sale at the reading and are available online.

10 a.m. to noon — The Village School open house, at the new school building, 253 South Royalston Rd. (Route 68), on the Camp Caravan property, Royalston. Meet teachers, visit classrooms, talk to parents and students, meet alumni. Arts and crafts for children from 10-11:45 a.m. Info: 978-249-3505.

5:30-7 p.m. — Italian dinner, to benefit the American Cancer Society. Hosted by the Relay for Life team, Spirit in Motion, at the Athol Congregational Church, 1225 Chestnut St., Athol. Handicap accessible. Tickets ($8) at the church (978-249-6202) or at the door.

6 p.m. — Pot roast supper, at the Starrett Memorial United Methodist Church, 40 Island St., Athol. Handicap accessible. Reservations: 978-249-9208, 978-249-4012.

Monday, Feb. 11

10:30-11:30 a.m. — Baby and Me Storytime: For children birth to 36 months old. Songs, rhymes, bounces & a board book. Includes 30-45 minutes of informal playtime. Older and younger siblings welcome. Free. Wheeler Memorial Library, 49 East Main St, Orange. 978-544-2495.

3:30-4:30 p.m. — LEGO Club: Children in grades K - 5 can drop in for LEGO Club. No registration necessary. Athol Public Library, 978-249-9515.

7 p.m. — Quabbin Valley Pro Musica chorus rehearsal, with Music Director Geoffrey Hudson, at the Central Congregational Church, 24 South Main St., New Salem. Info: Harry Haldt 978-249-4691.

7 p.m. — St. Mary’s Women’s Club will meet in the parish center, Cheney Street, Orange. Business meeting and a talk by Amber Letourneau from the Western Mass. Food Bank, with a microwave cooking demonstration. Members urged to bring guests. Refreshments to follow.

Tuesday, Feb. 12

10:30 a.m. - 11:15 a.m. — Rise and Romp Storytime: For children ages 2 to 5 years old. We'll read stories, sing songs, learn rhymes, dance, and make an easy craft.  Older and younger siblings are always welcome at our storytimes! All library programs are FREE. 4-6:30 p.m. — Story Walk: Story boards are set up at Athol Public Library for people of all ages to read; afterward children can make a craft in the Children’s Library. In inclement weather, the story is set up inside the library. This program is made possible by Valuing Our Children of Athol. No registration necessary

6-8 p.m. — Tuesday Tales Book Club Fiction: discussing “An Absolutely Remarkable Thing” by Hank Green at the Moore-Leland Library, 172 Athol Road, Orange.  Call the Wheeler Memorial Library, 978-544-2495, for more information.
