Athol Police Logs: May 13-14, 2021

Thursday, May 13

7:08 to 8:22 p.m. — Several calls about a bear cub near Brookside Road and the cub was running in and out of South Main Street, headed toward the river behind Quabbin Plumbling supply. Environmental Police contacted.

8:51 p.m. – Motor vehicle accident in South Athol Road area where vehicle collided with a tree. The motorist, who was unrestrained, appeared unconscious and was eventually transported to Athol Memorial Hospital (AMH).

Friday, May 14

12:08 to 12:36 a.m. — Multiple business security checks in Main Street and Unity Avenue areas.

2:14 a.m. – Main Street caller reported a loud banging noise in the building. Officer located the source and spoke with the involved party, who could not come to the door, about the complaint.

3:11 a.m. – Victoria Avenue caller reported a dune buggy was driving around on the streets. Officer unable to make contact.

6:32 p.m. – Crescent Street caller reported neighbor is playing loud music.

7:55 p.m. – Templeton Road caller reported an illegal dumping incident by a white van with ladders on the roof, parked in the back corner Racing Mart/Dunkin Donuts parking lot.

8:21 p.m. – Officer presence requested in the Main Street area where caller observed two juveniles going in the road and it appeared that one was hitting the other with a stick.

9:48 p.m. – Officer assistance requested at Newton Street where reporting party’s daughter’s ex-boyfriend showed up, kicked the door and wanted to see his child. Subject was gone on arrival.
