Athol Police Log: Dec. 23-25, 2021

Thursday, Dec. 23

6:42 p.m. – Two vehicles in the Market Drive area were involved in a motor vehicle accident in front of the entrance to the Dollar Store. There appeared to be no injuries.

6:52 p.m. – 911 caller from the Market Drive area reported a male party had fallen on the ice and was unconscious. Reporting party stated that the male party had not responded to any commands. Transported to the hospital. Patrol officer made contact with the registered owner of the vehicle. Party advised who was driving it, and that information was passed onto the officers.

8:31 p.m. – Templeton Road caller requested an ambulance for a 50-year-old male party who appeared to be having a seizure. Prior to anyone being able to respond, the male party took off on foot. Party kept saying he wasn’t going back to jail. Based on a description given, police checked Templeton Road all the way to Market Basket with negative contact. Later the male party called and notified dispatch that he was in Gardner. Gardner Hospital was notified.

11:41 p.m. – Caller from the Main Street area reported that two young females around 13 years old appeared to be hitchhiking. Patrol officer provided a courtesy transport to the 10- and 11-year-old to their residence.

Friday, Dec. 24

8:57 a.m. – Party in the lobby to report a female stole his debit card and took out $1,000. Party left before speaking to officer on duty.

9:56 a.m. – Lenox Street caller requested to speak with an officer about his wife violating court ordered custody. Advised of probate court options.

1:57 p.m. – Petersham and Templeton Road area caller reported a two-car motor vehicle accident. Airbags deployed, but no injuries. Vehicles towed.

Saturday, Dec. 25

4:36 p.m. – Grove Street caller reported that she was having an issue with her upstairs neighbor. Party went to put her dogs out and couldn’t because they had put a trampoline out there and also threw out some rotten food. Police spoke with downstairs tenant who advised that she had no access to basement where breaker panel is, and the basement door was screwed shut. Building inspector was notified of issues found and seen. Upper tenant appeared to have a woodstove/pellet stove exhaust pipe blowing onto porch.

4:35 p.m. – Simonds Street caller reported suspicious foot prints all around his yard. Police spoke with the reporting party and documented the footprints around the house.
