Bonita Springs FL & Athol MA — Ann M. (Leduc) Wojcik Romano, 62, passed away on December 23, 2018 at the Fisher Home In Amherst after a fast, courageous battle with cancer. Born in Holyoke on September 15, 1956, she was the daughter of the late Rene and Jacqueline (Nadeau) Leduc of South Hadley. Ann grew up in South Hadley and graduated from So. Hadley High School. During her youth, her family smiled remembering that she was the first "ball girl" for the South Hadley baseball team. She went on to further her education at HCC.

For over 30 years, Ann and her family lived in Easthampton. While living in Easthampton, she was instrumental in working on the bike path committee.

For the past 3 years, she spent the summer months in Athol and winter months in Bonita Springs. Ann loved the water and walking the beach at Barefoot Beach. She truly enjoyed the time spent in Florida. She also enjoyed swimming, golfing, pickle ball, yoga and badminton. Family card games were always fun & competitive. Ann also loved her family and was dedicated to them especially her grandsons.

Ann retired as the Retirement Director in West Springfield. Prior to that, she worked as an Assistant Tax Collector in Easthampton.

Eleven years ago, Ann was predeceased by her first husband and father of her children, Gary Wojcik. Besides her Mother, she will be dearly missed by her Husband of 8 years, Michael J. Romano. She also leaves behind her two sons. Nicholas Wojcik, of Northampton & grandsons: Theo and Max as well as Nathan Wojcik and his wife Karla of Albany, NY.

Ann was beloved by her siblings, Nancy Hamel and her husband Paul of Amherst and George Leduc and his wife Polly of Easthampton along with many nieces and nephews. Ann also leaves Michael's two sons, Jeffrey Romano and his children, Taylor and Nico of Savoy, MA and Ryan Romano and his wife Giovanna and children Dominic and Kayla Romano of Chicopee. Anne also leaves Michael's siblings, Rosalie Holt and her husband Ed of FL, Mary McKinney and her husband Ed of Athol, and Jeanne Kershaw and her husband Larry also of Athol.

Visitation will be held Friday Dec 28th from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Beers & Story South Hadley Funeral Home. Friends and family may gather Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home to form a procession to St. Theresa's Church for an 11:00 a.m. Mass. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either Hospice of the Fisher Home, 1165 N. Pleasant St., Amherst, MA 01002 or the St. Theresa's Church 9 E. Parkview Rd, S.Hadley MA 01075.
