Orange Police Log: April 12

Friday, April 12

12:23 a.m. — Vehicle stopped for no inspection sticker, East River Street. Verbal warning given.

12:51 a.m. — Motor vehicle stopped for defective marker light, Water Street. Verbal warning given.

2:16 a.m. — Officer wanted, Walnut Hill Road. Initially a 911 hang up. On call back, spoke with party who states subject hit her and they have been arguing on and off all night. Party denied need for emergency medical service. States no alcohol involved and no weapons. Male party can be heard yelling in the background throughout the call. Caller denied wanting to stay on the line but was advised to call back if anything changed. Spoke to both parties and mediated the situation. Male party left for the night without issue. Asked caller about being hit and she stated male did not mean any harm.

2:18 a.m. — Caller is wondering if police can pull over subject to see if she is high. Checked welfare of operator and children, all appeared OK.

2:59 a.m. — Animal complaint, East River Street. Caller states she hears what sounds like a “pup in distress” in between Pinecrest and Leisure Woods. Located barking dog at residence and owner brought dog inside.

3:57 a.m. — 911 call, Daniel Shays Highway. Male party with slurred speech advising he just wants to get his shoes and coat but has been locked out. Caller also advised that in the dark he struck his head on either a microwave or a counter and was bleeding from the head. Inquired if caller needed an ambulance and advised that he should probably get checked out. Attempted to gather further information but due to subject’s slow speech, it was hard to understand what he was saying. Patient transported to Athol Hospital by Orange EMS for an evaluation.

6:35 a.m. — Motor vehicle complaint, Ward Road. Caller states it looks like a vehicle smashed into her mailbox and newspaper box. Spoke to party who just wanted it on record. Damage noted to mailbox and part of the field due to a vehicle that went off the roadway. 

6:50 a.m. — Disabled vehicle with a flat tire, Route 2. Small child in the car. Caller has a spare and is looking for assistance with lights while she changes it. Transferred to state police.
