Springfield Symphony Orchestra chamber music series finale April 14

SPRINGFIELD – The third concert in the Springfield Symphony Orchestra Chamber Music series will feature the Brass Quintet showing off the virtuosity and charm of brass chamber music with a repertoire spanning 300 years from French, German, Canadian, Russian and American composers.

The concert will be held at the Twin Hills Country Club, located at 700 Wolf Swamp Rd. in Longmeadow, on Sunday, April 14, at 2:30 p.m.

The ensemble features  Thomas Bergeron, SSO principal trumpet, Dana Russian, SSO  3rd trumpet, Lauren Winter, SSO principal French horn, Paul Bellino, SSO 2nd trombone  and John Bottomley, tuba.

Each Chamber Music Concert lasts approximately 45 minutes, includes insight and educational commentary on the pieces being played and offers personal one-on-one interaction with musicians.

Doors open at 1:30 p.m. for canapés and a cash bar. The concert starts at 2:30 p. m. Patrons are encouraged to arrive early as seating is first come, first served. Concert-goers are invited to stay after each concert for a brief post-performance cocktails mix and mingle with that afternoon’s musicians.

Tickets, $30 for adults and $15 for ages 4 to 17, can be purchased online at springfieldsymphony.org, by calling 413-733-2291, visiting the box office at 1441 Main St., located in the TD Bank Building in Springfield or can be purchased at the door.
