NEW SALEM — The Friends of the New Salem Public Library have announced that the 2019 season of Reading Aloud for Grownups will begin Feb. 13 at 7 p.m. (snow date Feb. 20) with veteran readers Dee Waterman and Richard Trousdell. Both have extensive theatrical backgrounds and are sure to entertain the audience with their literary selections, and presentations.

Trousdell is professor emeritus in acting and directing from the University of Massachusetts, and  Waterman is a real estate agent from Amherst, who has been active in community theater for years. Last season, they read together from two plays, much to the delight of a packed house in the New Salem Library.

Two more programs are also scheduled for the 12th season of Reading Aloud for Grownups: March 13 (snow date March 20) with Christopher Turner and Sally Howe; April 10 (snow date April 17) with Lisa Finestone and Sue Dunbar.

All programs begin at 7 p.m. in the New Salem Library. Wine, cheese, coffee, tea and special desserts are offered during the program. There is no charge, but the Friends are grateful for any donations.
