Mahar storms back in second-half, beat Frontier 38-29

SOUTH DEERFIELD — Trailing 21-12 at halftime, the Mahar Senators made a second-half statement against the Frontier Red Hawks, holding them to only eight second-half points and two in the third quarter to win 38-29.

The Senators outscored the Red Hawks 17-2 in the third quarter and 9-6 in the fourth quarter. They improved to 13-7 on the year with the win, while Frontier fell to 14-6.

Hannah Paul led the Senators with 11 points. Freshman Micalyn Mailloux scored 10 points, while Jazmyn Vautour contributed seven points, Kianna Reilly six points and Tori Tenney and Sarah Graeff two points each.

Ella Deane led Frontier with 11 points. Tori Speth scored six points for the Red Hawks as well.

The Senators will await their playoff seeding with the process taking place Saturday at noon at Springfield Central.
