ORANGE — Lorraine (Savage) Carr, of Orange, beloved mother and wife, passed away on June 29, 2017, at Saint Vincent Hospital in Worcester, surrounded by family.
She was 82.
Lorraine was the loving wife of Ogden M. Carr, the devoted mother of Gregory Carr and his wife Ann Marie Carr, Jeffrey Carr and his wife Lesley Carr, and Catherine Carr Kelly and her husband Nathan Kelly. Lorraine was “Grammy” to Alyson Carr, Nicholas Carr, Grace Keenan Kelly, Torin Omar Kelly and to her 3-week old great-grandson Andrew Joseph Carr.
Lorraine was the daughter of Laurence A. and Mary Louise (Blaisdell) Savage and dear sister to Gladys Bachelder. She was loved by many cousins, nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.
Lorraine was a tremendously kind woman. She raised her children, was a dedicated grandmother, helped care for her parents and was devoted to her husband.
She went to Katherine Gibbs School, earning her associate’s degree and living in Boston with her best friend, Jackie Milner. She worked as a secretary for many years, in between raising her three children and had her own wedding planning business before she retired. Lorraine believed it was her duty to give back and brought her passion and heart to those who needed it most. An avid volunteer, she worked for The Good Samaritans, The League of Women Voters, and the Parent-Child Program in Lawrence, to name a few. She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Community Church of North Orange and Tully, 48 Main St., North Orange, on July 22, at 1 p.m.
