Christoper M. McKnight
WEST BROOKFIELD — Christopher M. “Chris” McKnight, 43, passed away on Monday, June 12, 2017.
He was born in Ware on June 29, 1973, and attended school in the Athol/Orange area. His family roots were in western Mass.
He led a gypsy lifestyle, working and living up and down the East Coast. A highlight of his life was the years he spent working and traveling with the Barnum & Bailey Circus.
Chris had a fun, loving, open heart and always accepted everyone just as they were.
He is survived and will be sorely missed by his mother Ivy Handschuh and stepfather John Handschuh of Charlemont, his father William McKnight and stepmother Laura McKnight of Athol, brothers Billy McKnight of West Brookfield and Joseph McKnight of New York, a sister Melissa Jackson of Greenfield, and three children Justice, Tristin and Autumn Rose, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.
Visiting hours will be Saturday, June 17, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Smith-Kelleher Funeral Home, 87 Franklin St., Greenfield. The memorial service will begin at noon. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
A reception will follow the service at the Greenfield Lodge of Elks 1296, located on the corner of Federal and Church Streets.
