ORANGE — The Orange Senior Citizens Club recently celebrated its 45th anniversary during its monthly meeting.

The anniversary cake was made by Deanne Rota of Orange. Sue Enko gave a presentation with photos and scrapbooks from the past and a poster listing all the past presidents.

In 1972 Emma Theoret, mother of Kathryn Lustombo, was the club founder and the first president, followed by Vera Richards, Allyn Wright, Isadore Lundgren, Oren Jones, Julius Gordon, Olaf Ohlson, S. Louise Stone, Edris Rowe, Ruth Songer, Earl Drew, Roger Tolman, Doris Raymond, William Ruby, Dorothy Ruby, May Deane, Jeannette Dejackome, Joan Gates and now, President Frank Schiappa.

The purpose of the club was to further recreational opportunities for persons 50 years and older, to promote friendship, to encourage worthwhile leisure time activities and to be non-political and non-sectarian.
