ORANGE—The Return to Hogwarts event kicked off on Wednesday, July 26, with 19 area local businesses participating. Marking the birthday of Harry Potter on July 31, the celebration transformed downtown Orange, with people in costume and elaborate decorations in and around the businesses.

Activities range from Hogsmeade Village at the Orange Municipal Airport to Billy Goat Boats offering boat rides and rentals on the river, to the Revival Wheeler Mansion becoming the Mansion of Divination for the Hogwarts Ball and Wizardry Mystery Game.

The event runs through Sunday, and there is still a lot to do, including Make a Mandrake, the Hogsmeade Vendor Fair, and Defense Against the Dark Arts classes. Sunday evening will bring Return to Hogwarts to a close with the Hogwarts Ball at 6 p.m. For more information, visit the Facebook page, Return to Hogwarts in Orange MA.
