ORANGE — Friendly Town Live will feature The Reprobate Blues Band on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. on the big bandstand at Butterfield Park at 83 East River St. as the series continues.

The concert is free and appropriate for all ages. If it rains, the concert will be held in Orange Town Hall, at 6 Prospect St.

The Reprobate Blues Band plays hard-rocking, authentic, soul-igniting blues. The Reprobates include Charlie Scott on lead vocals, Bo Henderson on guitar and vocals, Janet Henderson on bass and vocals, Tom Goodwin and James Bennett on saxophones and Bob Pierce on drums. The band is heavily influenced by the blues pedigrees issued from people like Buddy Guy, Junior Wells, John Lee Hooker, Luther Georgia Boy Shaky Snake Johnson and Robert Junior Lockwood.

It has received extensive radio airplay throughout the United States and is one of the premier touring blues bands in the Northeast, sharing stages with James Montgomery, Duke Robillard, Professor Harp and countless others.

Johnny Memphis says, “Charlie Scott is a strong, soulful vocalist and the band has a gruff and gritty sound that connects blues and rock ’n’ roll in the same way the early Rolling Stones did.”

Critic Joey Edwards writes, “The Reprobates rock the blues hard, skillfully and naturally. They masterfully deliver the goods with soulful, pounding authority, all night long. They’re so high energy, rivaling some of the greatest blues artists, rock, and jam bands of all time. Its only a matter of time before the Reprobates are touring worldwide. Their sound is already known and loved by blues fans far and wide.”

Hot dogs, popcorn, soft drinks, glow sticks and more will be on sale at the event. Friendly Town Live 2018 concerts are sponsored in part by Witty’s Funeral Home, Flint’s Auto Sales, Friendly Town Furniture, Kessler Investments, Pete’s Tire Barn, Al’s Quick Lube, Adams Animal Hospital, West Brook Tree Farm, Osprey Entertainment, Scooby’s Custom Cornholes & More, Elwood Sound and Media and 97.3FM WJDF.
