PETERSHAM — The Petersham Police are seeking the public’s help with an investigation into a larceny from a home earlier this week.

In a statement, Police Chief Peter Buck said that the larceny occurred at a residence on North Main Street. The investigation included K-9 Officer Laura Gordon of the Erving Police Department and Northeast Houndsman, which led police to another home on North Main Street.

In his statement, Buck said that the department is working with the Worcester County District Attorney’s Office, Massachusetts State Police and other law enforcement agencies to bring the investigation to a close and have the property returned.

Buck stated that residents should take precautions to secure their homes and valuables to prevent similar crimes from happening.

“We live/work in a wonderful community and are surrounded by many great people, and we need to remember that the actions of some do not reflect the high values of the greater population,” the statement read.

Those with information that may be of assistance, or have come into possession of the stolen items should contact the Petersham Police Department at 978-724-3232.
