Orange Police Log April 20-May 6

Thursday, April 20

12:56 p.m. – Suspicious activity call from Roche Avenue. Police responded to the above address for a report of people breaking into a building which was found to be unsecured with two open doors. A male and two female parties were located in the area near Roche Avenue, and all parties were identified. Owner of the building was left a voicemail regarding the incident.

7:48 p.m. – Caller from East Road reported about six “no trespassing” signs ripped down that were along their property. Police advised them to put cameras up and to call if they see anyone walking around their property.

8:28 p.m. – Police responding to an East River Street motor vehicle accident report found a vehicle down an embankment just after being advised of an erratic operator. Male party was found to be under the influence of alcohol, and Richard C. Innes was arrested for OUI-Liquor or .08%, marked lanes violation, and negligent operation of a motor vehicle.

Friday, April 21

11:14 p.m. – Police responded to a disturbance call from E Main Street. Upon arrival officers were advised that a camper had been stored on his mother’s property for over a year. The agreement was for two weeks. Sold the camper for $50 recently. The family removed it from the property around 10 p.m. that night. The family agreed to pay $25 as a storage fee and will request an escort sometime tomorrow.

Saturday, April 22

11:52 a.m. – East Road caller reported that when they tried to file their taxes, but they were rejected at first because someone had used their social security number and already filed. Reporting party will be contacting the IRS office but wanted the incident on record with the OPD. Police advised they also come to the station to pick up identity theft paperwork.

12:22 p.m. – Caller from Daniel Shays Highway reported two individuals were attempting to buy alcohol, but did not have an ID. Subjects had verbally argued with the reporting party and threatened them. One of the male parties was located and spoken with. The male party was found to be of age and was advised of the complaint.

9:00 p.m. – Police reported to E Main Street to keep the peace in regards to a call from the previous night. The family paid for a storage fee after allowing a camper to remain on the property for over a year. Police conducted an escort without incident.

Monday, April 24

4:37 p.m. – Prentiss Street caller wanted it on record that their social security number had been compromised and someone had filed for unemployment. Reporting party had already notified the correct agencies.

Tuesday, April 25

6:39 p.m. – S Main Street request for police assistance to advise ongoing issues with the neighbor boy riding his dirt bike on their property. They had asked him to stop and spoken with the parents, but situation was still ongoing. Police spoke with the reporting party about their concerns, and the process for trespassing an individual from private property was fully explained. Police also spoke with the mother of the youth involved and explained he could face criminal trespass charges if he continues to go on the reporting party’s property after being told not to.

11:42 p.m. – Patrol officer noticed a vehicle parked in in the E Main Street area with the rear hatch open, but no one was with the vehicle. Police noted contents of the vehicle did not appear to have been disturbed. Hatch was secured.

Wednesday, April 26

8:12 a.m. – Animal complaint from Ball Street area. Female walking her dog was dragged by the dog over to the reporting party and the dog had tried to bite him. But the reporting party was able to move, and it just ripped his shirt. ACO (Animal Control Officer) was notified about the incident and will be making contact with the reporting party and owner of the dog.

Saturday, April 29

12:13 p.m. – Past breaking and entering reported from W River Street. Reporting party stated that their four trucks were vandalized, it appeared the building was pried into, and there were footprint tracks all over the inside of the building. Reporting party was unsure at that time if anything had been stolen. Reporting party was advised to wait outside for the police and to not touch anything. Under investigation.

11:27 p.m. – Dana Road caller reported a car with no muffler driving up and down Dana Road multiple times and speeding. Caller stated that this had also already happened at 7:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m.

Sunday, April 30

1:07 a.m. – Dana Road caller reported a black car with no muffler keeps driving down the street waking them up, parks at the end of the cul-de-sac, then leaves. Vehicle gone on arrival. Reporting party at the station 4:52 p.m requested police assistance to follow up on complaint. Complaint was discussed with involved parties.

3:56 a.m. – Request to OPD to make contact with party who notified authorities their mother was in need of a place to stay as her Cottage Street residence had been involved in a structure fire. Attempted to make notification to family member. Party no longer resides at provided address.

Monday, May 1

12:24 a.m. – Officer patrol of Eagleville Road and Daniel Shays Highway area revealed a vehicle that was found to be abandoned following a minor crash. Vehicle towed and waiting on video evidence from store.

11:02 a.m. – E River Street caller reported they were selling property on Facebook market, and someone sent them money in a business account. But reporting party did not have a business account. Reporting party was selling a stroller for $80, but because money supposedly went to a business account, they couldn’t access it without setting up business account for $400. Buyer was informed, and the buyer then claimed they would call the FBI on the reporting party. Police advised the reporting party to block all contact with buyer and resell the stroller since they had not accepted any money yet.

Tuesday, May 2

6:24 p.m. – E Main Street caller reported that his businesses waste oil dumpster in the back of the property appeared to have been drained without his permission. Requested extra overnight patrols. Reporting party would be working on securing the dumpster with a lock to prevent further incidents.

Wednesday, May 3

1:34 a.m. – Daniel Shays Highway traffic stop resulted in two arrests. Ashley L. Boucher on multiple default warrants, and Paul M. Ward on a default warrant and two other straight warrants.

10:01 a.m. – Report of cows in the road at N Main Street. Contact number police had was not taking calls, and no one at residence. ACO to follow up.

10:20 a.m. – Pine Hill Road caller reported that the neighbor’s cows were on his property again.

2:04 p.m. – Caller from E Main Street reported a minor motor vehicle accident. A Honda had attempted to pass a Chevrolet on the right while the Chevrolet was sitting in the only driving lane. The light had turned green and the Chevrolet struck the Honda as they both started to drive. The operator of the Honda was cited for passing on the right hand side.

Thursday, May 4

7:24 a.m. – Chestnut Hill Road caller reported there was a hunter on their property that had shot towards their house and shot a turkey. On arrival, the involved party was located and was cooperative. Due to nature of the call, the Environmental Police were contacted and later arrived on scene to take over the investigation.

1:00 p.m. – Officer spoke to two students who were receiving threatening and derogatory messages from another juvenile who is not at the school. Both students were advised to not respond, block that subject and screenshot all messages in case it continues or escalates.

1:40 p.m. – Party from Chase Street in lobby reported they were a victim of unemployment fraud. Given identity theft paperwork and was advised to monitor credit. Reporting party had already contacted their bank, employer and unemployment.

10:11 p.m. – Main Street caller reported two loose cows on the street. Police eventually reached owner, who advised police their cell phones were not working properly.

Friday, May 5

9:50 a.m. – Sentinel Elm Road caller advised police they had been contacted by their employer advising someone had put in for unemployment benefits even though they are still employed. Reporting party had already contacted the unemployment office. Police advised them to monitor their credit report and identity theft paperwork would be available to pick up at the station.

4:39 p.m. – Party into the station to report a turquoise colored pickup truck that had been driving erratically by their residence, and reporting party had the vehicle on video doing a burnout. Requested extra patrols in the area.

Saturday, May 6

1:24 a.m. – S Main Street report of larceny. While on patrol, observed a vehicle stop and two occupants exit and steal two traffic cones. Vehicle was stopped and occupants identified. Parties were escorted back to South Main Street where they put the cones back in their original places.

7:05 a.m. – E River Street caller reported that a vehicle had damaged a gas grill and some other items overnight. Tire marks were found in the lawn leading up to the reporting party’s apartment where a grill was struck.
