ORANGE – The Orange Senior Citizens Club plans to meet, weather permitting, at 1 p.m. at the St. Mary’s Church Parish Hall (located on the corner of West Myrtle Street and Cheney Street) on March 2.
The program committee has scheduled a special presentation, “Quick & Healthy Microwave Cooking.” The demonstration will be presented by Meredith Starr, nutrition coordinator at The Food Bank of Western Massachusetts. Participants will learn about MYPlate and reading nutrition facts labels, microwave cooking safety, and will be shown quick and easy recipes to make in the microwave oven. The program is free. Light refreshments and beverages will be provided.
This is a regular monthly business meeting, and all members are invited to attend. Guests are always invited and new members are always welcomed. Any local resident 50 or older is eligible to become an Orange Senior Citizens Club member. Dues are $5 per year. The agenda includes minutes of the Feb. 2 meeting, the treasurer’s report, and reports from the fair, program and trip committees.
As outlined in the club’s constitution and bylaws, the meeting will be canceled if there is inclement weather and if school is canceled. The meeting place is being moved from the Orange Senior Center in order to allow time for the town clerk to set up equipment for the Annual Town Election on March 6.
