Wing contest at Athol Eagles

ATHOL — Make and bring your favorite wings to the Athol-Orange Eagles 4545 on April 20, 4-7 p.m. to be shared and judged. Prizes will be given to the top three places. Cost is $8 to taste test and get tickets to vote for the winner. A signup sheet is available at the Eagles 4545. The event will be held at 99 Hapgood St., Athol.

Gun safety class at Freemasons lodge

ATHOL—A Massachusetts gun safety license to carry class will be held on Sunday, April 21, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at the North Quabbin Lodge of Freemasons, 336 Main St., Athol. Athol Golden Age Club meeting

ATHOL—The Athol Golden Age Club will hold a business meeting on Monday, April 22, at the Athol Senior Center at 1p.m. The senior center is located at 82 Freedom St, Athol. This month the club is meeting on the fourth Monday of the month since April 15 was Patriot’s Day.

The Athol Golden Age Club is open to everyone, 55 years old or over. Its purpose is threefold: to promote “re-creation” through challenging programs, friendship through regular meetings, and leisure activities such as the popular senior bus trips.

Historical reenactment at Athol equestrian center

ATHOL—The New England Equestrian Center of Athol will host a reenactment event on Sunday, April 28, at 9:30 a.m.

Ever wonder about The Civil War History? How did horses and soldiers play their parts? Come find out. Members of a reenactment group will be here to explain and show you and your horse the equipment, then saddle up. There are moves and formations to show and for all to try. Baked ham dinner at St. Francis Church

ATHOL—St. Francis Church (101 Main St., Athol) will be hosting a ham dinner on Saturday, May 4, at 5:30 p.m. in the church hall. The menu includes baked ham, potatoes, carrots, corn, bread, and dessert. Tickets are $15 each. Indoor dining and takeout options are available. Reservations are required. WINCHENDON – Ever wonder what certain antiques or collectables are worth? Bring them to the Beals Memorial Library to find out.

On Saturday, May 4, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., the Winchendon library will be hosting an appraisal with licensed auctioneers Ken and Robin Maston. During this event, patrons can get the value of their antiques or collectables evaluated for a small fee: $5 for one item or $10 for up to three items. All proceeds from this event go the the Friends of the Beals Memorial Library.

With over 25 years of experience in the estate liquidating business, experts Ken and Robin Maston have assisted families in selling hundreds of thousands of items from antiques to collectables, household goods and furniture. Their experience as licensed auctioneers has given them the knowledge and experience in evaluating a wide range of items and categories, and they are looking forward to sharing that expertise with the Winchendon community.

Phillipston Annual Town Meeting

PHILLIPSTON—The Phillipston Annual Town Meeting will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 8, in the gymnasium of the Phillipston Memorial Building.

The FY25 budget is dependent on a $175,000 override to fund the operating budget of the town and schools. Warrant and override information will be posted the week of April 22.
