Having refused to accept responsibility for racism in their promotion decisions, Police Chief Robert Haigh Jr. and Mayor RoxannWedegartner are now fighting their war with the City Council at the expense of the safety of the people of Greenfield, canceling overnight police coverage and claiming, "We can't afford it." Anyone can manipulate budget numbers to show a shortfall in a given line item. I hope the City Council takes aggressive action to push back against this obvious and shameful ruse.
