Richard Hilllier: Keep municipal flagpole policies ‘strictly municipal’

The policy for municipal flagpoles seems pretty straightforward to me. Perhaps I’m looking at it too simplistically, but here is my “opinion.”

American flags, the state flag, the county or parish flag (whichever (is)(are) applicable), township flag, city flag, or the like.

Adding anything else would just be opening Pandora’s box, e.g. a POW flag, a LBGQT flag, a right to life flag, etc.

Being a Vietnam veteran I believe it would be nice to fly POW flags on municipal flagpoles; however, this would open it up to all different “flag supporters” to want “theirs” to be flown!

Let’s keep it strictly “municipal!”
