A remora followed Derek Kellogg from the Sharks.

Former Long Island University forward Isaac Kante announced his commitment to the Minutemen on Twitter on Thursday. The 6-foot-8, 245-pound Brooklyn, N.Y., native started all 30 games for the Sharks last season and averaged 12 points and eight rebounds.

Kellogg, the former UMass head coach that took over LIU after he was fired in 2017, rejoined UMass as an assistant Wednesday.

Kante spent three years at Hofstra after transferring from Georgia. He earned second-team honors from the CAA, NABC All-District and All-Met.

That makes six transfers and eight newcomers overall for UMass coach Frank Martin with the season a few months away.
