A Somersworth man is facing multiple charges after police said he led them on a high-speed chase through several towns from Hooksett to Franklin on Monday night.

Phillip Bryson, 53, spent the night at the Merrimack County jail before he was due to be arraigned at Franklin District Court. He was charged with operating as a habitual offender, disobeying an officer, resisting arrest, reckless conduct and reckless operation, according to police.

At 10:59 p.m. on June 2, State Troopers were alerted to a report of a 2015 white Ford Escape whose driver had fled a Hooksett police officer attempting a traffic stop, police said.

The vehicle was traveling northbound on Interstate 93 from the Hooksett Welcome Center at speeds exceeding 100 mph without tail lights. A state trooper attempted to stop the Ford near Exit 12, but the driver did not pull over. Law enforcement began a high-speed pursuit, including laying down spike strips, which punctured one of the car’s front tires. However, the chase continued off Exit 17 and down Route 4 through Boscawen and Salisbury, until the car turned onto Route 127 before stopping on a dirt road in front of a Franklin manufactured home.

The driver fled the car and entered the home. State Troopers and members of the Franklin Police Department arrived at the scene, arresting Roxanne Quaile, 38, of Franklin on a warrant unrelated to the chase. Troopers established a perimeter around the home and negotiated with the driver to surrender. Bryson eventually exited the home and was then taken into custody, police said.
