Bulletin board: 44 deer checked on Day 4 of Massachusetts shotgun deer hunting season

A total of 44 deer were reported at Franklin County checking stations during Day 4 of the Massachusetts shotgun deer hunting season on Thursday.

Flagg’s Bait & Tackle in Orange led the way with 16 deer checked, while Gould’s Sugarhouse in Shelburne was also in double figures with 10 on Thursday.

Parker earns All-Region selection

Westfield State junior forward Delaney Parker was named to the 2023 United Soccer Coaches Division III Women’s Soccer All-Region Team this week. 

The Orange native and two-time MASCAC Offensive Player of the Year was named to the 2023 United Soccer Coaches Division III Women’s Soccer All-Region second team.

Parker’s recognition comes after finishing the year leading the MASCAC in goals and total points. Parker scored 19 goals on the season and tallied 48 points.
