Bulletin Board: Gill CC Woodworking wins Greenfield Touch Football League

The championship game of the Greenfield Touch Football League took place on Sunday, with Gill CC Woodworking scoring an early touchdown and holding on to defeat Sirum, 13-0. 

Kashon Brantley got the scoring going with a 26-yard touchdown pass from Pat Viencek and closed out the game with a 6-yard touchdown pass from Viencek in the fourth quarter. Cody Underwood added the extra point. 

Nuny Vega had an interception for Sirum. 

Here are the league awards: League MVP — Jalen Sanders, Gill CC Woodworking; Playoff MVP – Kashon Brantley, Gill CC Woodworking; Offensive Rookie of the Year – Bryce Marcellius, Amherst Office Park Hounds; Defensive Rookie of the Year – RJ Byrd, Namaste Rockets; Sportsmanship – Namaste Pink Panthers; QB of the Year – Malcolm Smith, Sirum; WR of the Year – Tyler Charboneau,Namaste Rockets; DB of the Year – Parker Hickey, Sirum; Offensive Lineman of the Year – Jorge Santos, Blitzing Bears; Defensive Lineman of the Year – Chucky St. Hilaire, Sirum; Offensive Player of the Year - Joe Colon, Blitzing Bears; Defensive Player of the Year – Tyson Dowdy, Namaste Rockets; Most Improved Offensive – Nuny Vega, Sirum; Most Improved Defensive – Wa Perry and Steven Torres; Comeback Players of the Year – Jordan Markham and Tim Thornden, Namaste Rockets. 


Montague Hoop Shoot

The Montague Elks Hoop Shoot will be held on Tuesday at 6 p.m. at Turners Falls High School. 

Registration begins at 5:15 p.m. The event is free for all boys and girls ages 8-to-13 as of Apr. 1, 2024. Participants will be split into six groups and the winner of each age level will advance to the next round which will be held in central Mass. on Jan. 13, 2024.

FCHA results

Lucas Edson had a goal and an assist while Brodie Suhl tallied a goal as FCHA 10U White earned a 2-1 victory over the Junior Yellow Jackets on Saturday at Cyr Arena. 

Harlon Hickey played well in goal while Shaye Tyler had a strong game on defense in the win.
