Friday, August 4

1:50 p.m. – Several calls from the Market Drive area about observing a male party laying on the side of the road. Upon arrival party was awake and conscious. Taken to Athol Memorial Hospital.

Sunday, August 6

2:09 a.m. – DCF requested a welfare check on a 7-10-year-old boy from an anonymous report of possible neglect. No further information. Negative contact.

Monday, August 7

12:45 a.m. – Alarm company for Main Street area building reported front entry alarm activation. Police secured building.

Tuesday, August 8

4:21 p.m. – Caller from School Street to report a threat. Male party was assaulted by a guest of another tenant. Male party requested that the guest to be removed so no further issues. Property manager was on scene and wanted the guest to be trespassed. Police were unable to locate the guest.

6:24 p.m. – Report from Chestnut Hill Avenue and Crescent Street area of what appears to be a male party riding a bike with a rifle. Police made contact with the male party. It was an air rifle and subject was sent on their way.

8:23 p.m. – Caller from S Main Street area reported observing an individual on the side of the road “slumped over.” Officer attempted to find a place for the individual to stay, and multiple homeless shelters were called, but none had availability. So the individual was brought to the station for a bit for shelter due to the weather.

Wednesday, August 9

2:03 p.m. – Reporting party from the Lumber Street area reported a suspicious person who had attempted to get into an employee’s car. Police spoke with the female party involved. Stated she pulled into work and a male party had tried to open her door and get in. She locked the doors and left. When she came back a few minutes later, the same male tried to open her door again. She left and called her work. Male party (description provided) was gone on arrival when she came back.

3:30 p.m. – Main Street store reported diesel fuel leaking from the pump. E1 reported the leak was coming from the pump as a vehicle apparently had left with the hose still in it. Pump was shut down (approximate estimate of 2 gallon leak). Speedy Dry was applied.

6:03 p.m. – Multiple 911 calls from Silver Lake and Wilson Avenue area reporting a 19 year old male had been struck by a vehicle. Observed at the time that they were unconscious and bleeding, but still breathing. Transported to hospital.

Thursday, August 10

7:54 p.m. – Hapgood Street caller reported they believed someone had taken their dog. Reporting party had observed a female, possibly intoxicated, walking with the dog. Reporting party obtained the dog and brought it back to the residence while officer was on scene. Reporting party did not know who the female was or where she lived. Police were unable to locate female.

Friday, August 11

7:02 a.m. – Multiple E-911 callers from the Elizabeth Street area reported a water main break with water gushing from the street. Athol DPW Water Department notified. He will send someone to address the issue.

7:05 a.m. – North Orange Road caller reported a goat was standing in the road. Gone on arrival, ACO notified.

8:05 a.m. – Brown Street caller stated there was a surveyor company and that was on his property and they were trespassing. Reporting party stated he would like them removed because he cannot let his dog out and his wife works nights and keeps getting woken up. Surveyor spoke with the reporting party. Reporting party had left prior to APD arrival.

12:35 p.m. – Cottage Street caller reported an altercation and stated a male was trying to fight a neighbor, and was screaming and swearing in front of their young son. Ongoing neighbor dispute. Advised parties of court options regarding Harpo.

Saturday, August 12

8:04 a.m. – Main Street caller reported a disturbance in his apartment building. Reporting party stated there was an altercation in the hallway that had since moved into an apartment. Quiet upon police arrival. Involved parties were spoken to.

8:11 a.m. – North Orange Road caller reported a goat standing in the middle of the road.

2:07 p.m. – Everett Avenue caller wanted it put on record that her and her family were out in their yard doing work and the neighbor’s dogs were out in their yard trying to lunge through the fence at them. Ongoing issue between neighbors.

Sunday, August 13

9:51 a.m. – Thrower Road area caller reported allowing his daughter-in-law and a group of her friends to use his vehicle for a weekend trip. They have texted him with pictures saying there is significant damage to the vehicle now. While on their trip, the vehicle was reported to have been in two accidents. The reporting party was advised to contact their insurance company and to get the information of the vehicle operators and when the damage occurred.

11:26 a.m. – Patrol officer approached in the Exchange Street area to give him a bank card that was found on the ground.

12:01 p.m. – School Street caller would like to report a possible breaking and entering. Reporting party stated they had recently moved into the apartment and noticing when they step out or wake up in the morning, there has been money and other items missing. Police tried to call the reporting party back, no answer. A voicemail was left.

12:46 p.m. – Orchard Street caller reported scam/fraud. Someone had taken out a credit card in their name. The card was not activated. Reporting party was advised who to contact and given the fraud paperwork to fill out as well. No money was taken from the reporting party.

Monday, August 14

8:39 a.m. – Wellington Street caller reported that $100 was stolen from his wallet and the person he believes took it was denying it. Police spoke with the reporting party and gathered information for an investigation.

4:01 p.m. – Cottage and Hapgood Street area caller reported a male party, possibly under the influence, sitting on the sidewalk. Transported to hospital by AFD.

4:57 p.m. – Cottage Street caller reported harassment issue. A male party was harassing her and wouldn’t leave her alone. Reporting party stated he was videotaping her and was, at the time of the call, standing outside her friend’s apartment that she was in. Reporting party was advised of options. Male party was also advised of public property laws.

7:06 p.m. – Batchelder Road complaint of two dirt bikes on the road. Officer checked the area of Chase, observed fresh marks on the road. Negative contact.

8:13 p.m. – Walnut Street area caller reported motorcycles doing donuts in the middle of the road. Investigated.

8:25 p.m. – Police response to a South Street disturbance. Caller reported the people they live with were screaming and yelling at them and they had locked themselves in their room. Female party stated her $100 in cash was missing along with her vape pen and believed a roommate had taken the items but did not have proof.
