Athol Police Logs: Dec. 1 to Dec. 5, 2022

Thursday, December 1

8:15 a.m. – Police addressed a disturbance situation on Main Street where it was reported that an individual was walking in and out of traffic and attempting to enter peoples’ cars.  Police spoke to the individual and then sent them on their way.

10:10 a.m. – Police to follow up on report of mail being stolen from a Cottage Street residence.  Possible suspect information was provided by reporting party.

2:33 p.m. – Police investigated report from Resevoir Drive of a baby being left unattended in a running car.  Police spoke to the mother and intended to follow up later.

Saturday, December 3

10:21 a.m.- Petersham Road caller reported his brother had accidentally dropped off the wrong medication  yesterday at the station “drop box” and requested it back.  Involved parties were advised to call back to speak with a supervisor after being told that there is a process for pickup, and no one at the PD has access to get in to the drop box. 

Sunday, December 4

9:42 a.m. – Monitoring company reported that they couldn’t get ahold of a male party that has a probation tracking bracelet.  Contact made, advised to call company.

12:29 p.m. – Police responded to a disturbance call from Estabrook Street.  Caller reported that her boyfriend was involved in some sort of altercation with the downstairs neighbors.  Reporting party stated it was verbal, but was going to escalate to being physical.   A 911 call from another reporting party stated that her son was just assaulted and choked by the male party from the upstairs apartment.  Police were able to separate the involved parties and need for EMS was declined.  

12:48 p.m. – Estabrook Street caller reported a disturbance as her boyfriend was trying to leave for the gym, the downstairs neighbors were again outside harassing him; downstairs male party was argumentative and posturing up to fight the male party from upstairs.  Police took necessary action, and parties advised to stay away from one another. 

2:35 p.m. – Police took necessary action in response to a report of an erratic driver on Main Street.  Female caller reported a Red Ford Escape was all over the roadway.  Reporting party stated the operator was in the opposite lane as well as close to the sidewalk area.

10:20 a.m. – Caller from Exchange Street area reported a front door to building open and glass everywhere.  Door secured by Police and the Building inspector advised. 

11:48 a.m. – Gibson Drive caller reported they were having multiple items stolen from inside the house, while they were inside.  Reporting party does not know of anyone having access to the residence.  Items ranged from groceries, to bills and had occurred over multiple days.
