Saturday, May 25

10 a.m. — Registered Democrats in New Salem will hold a caucus at the Stowell Building on South Main Street, New Salem, to elect delegates and alternates to the 2019 Massachusetts Democratic State Convention. The caucus is open to all registered and pre-registered Democrats in New Salem. Pre-registered Democrats who will be 16 by May 11, 2019 will be allowed to participate and run as a delegate or alternate. Info: Sharon Tracy 978-544-8822 or Mary-Ann Palmieri 978-544-2611.

10-1 p.m. — Veterans Accessible Trail Event, Mt. Grace Memorial Day Celebration for service members, their families, and the community, 835 Millers Falls Rd., Northfield. Directions at: 978-248-2055 ext. 13.

7-10:30 p.m. — Monadnock Tri-State Dance Club dance, Ellen Lambert Murphy Memorial Community Center, 21 Durkey St., Winchester, NH. Patriotic theme night, with live music by Bushwack. Sunday, May 26

9 a.m. — Phillipston Memorial Day services begin with a parade from the common to the cemetery. In the event of bad weather, the marshal David Bramhall will announce any changes.

1 p.m. — Warwick Memorial Day observance starting from the Unitarian Church, on Route 78. The assembly will then parade up to the Warwick Cemetery for the main program. Refreshments will be served in the town hall following the ceremony.

2 p.m. — Royalston Memorial Day observance on the Common (near the town hall). It includes a parade, patriotic tunes, and readings from local school children. The Ladies Benevolent Society will provide refreshments.  

7 p.m. — Monthly meeting of the Central Massachusetts Genealogical Society, Inc., upper hall of the American Legion Post 129 at 22 Elm St., Gardner. With guest speaker Lori Lyn Price, who will speak about “Diseases and Epidemics over the Years.” Visitors are welcome.

10 a.m. — Memorial Day Interfaith Church Service, in the Orthodox Congregational Church, 21 North Main St., Petersham. All are invited to attend and honor the country’s military, both past and present. Fellowship and light lunch will follow the service.

Monday, May 27

7-11 a.m. — Memorial Day Breakfast, hosted by the North Quabbin Masonic Lodge, 336 Main St., Athol. Pancakes, French toast, sausage, eggs and homefries. $6 adults/$3 kids.

8:45 a.m. — Athol Memorial Day services begin with flag raising ceremonies at VVA Park on Starrett Ave; main program at 10 a.m. in Silver Lake Cemetery, followed by parade to Millers River for Anchor Wreath Ceremony, concluding with a program in the Athol Veterans Park, corner of Main and Exchange Streets. Ceremony moves to Memorial Hall in the event of rain at 11 a.m.

8 a.m. — Orange Memorial Day services begin at Jones Cemetery (8 am)North Orange Cemetery at 8:20, followed by a parade at 9 a.m. in Tully from the Tully Fire Station. The parade in Orange will start off at 11 a.m. across from the post office and proceed to the Veterans Park for the full service.

9:30 a.m. — Petersham Memorial Day program, starting with a parade from West Street at the flagpole.

10 a.m. — Erving Memorial Day program, with a parade starting at the Riverfront Park in Erving center to the town hall.
