ATHOL — The long process started in 2014 and the patience required to go with it is starting to pay off for the owners of Atlantic Brewers & Distillers who have been renovating the former Plotkin Furniture warehouse at 105 Marble Street.
Owner Joseph Gochinski said he hopes to open the brewery/tasting room in two months. “We’re good on a lot of fronts,” he said. All of the brewing equipment has arrived and “we’re closing in on all the products.”
Upon entering the building on the first floor, which is comprised of six sections, there will be a 1,000 square foot tap room with small tables and chairs and possibly barrels to be used as tables. The remaining space will consist of brewing equipment and a cooling area where the made beer will be stored. There are no immediate plans for the second floor, as it is currently being used for storage.
Gochinski said they’re also looking into setting up food trucks for the brewery. He commented that “the town has been really helpful,” and is considering hosting an open house as the weather gets warmer.
