Free meals for children 18 and under this summer

Bring children age 18 and under to one of eight open locations throughout Athol, Orange and Royalston for a free breakfast and lunch this summer.

Athol-Royalston Regional School District has received grant funding to provide free, healthy, kid-friendly meals for all children Mondays through Fridays. Meals will be provided to all children without charge, and are the same for all children regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability, and there will be no discrimination in the course of the meal service. Sites are open through Aug. 17. Meals are provided on a first-come, first-served basis at the sties and times as follows:

Athol Public Library, Athol, no breakfast served, lunch noon to 12:30 p.m.

Silver Lake Park, Athol, no breakfast served, lunch noon to 12:30 p.m.

Salvation Army, Athol, breakfast 8:30 to 8:45 a.m., lunch 11:30 to 11:45 a.m.

Cottage Street Apartments, Athol, breakfast 9 to 9:15 a.m., lunch 11:30 to 11:45 a.m.

Pinecrest Apartments, Orange, breakfast 9:30 to 9:45 a.m., lunch noon to 12:30 p.m.

Phinehas S. Newton Library, Royalston, no breakfast served, lunch 11:30 to 11:50 a.m.

Whitney Hall Park, Royalston, no breakfast served, lunch noon to 12:20 p.m.

Athol Community Elementary School, Athol, breakfast 8:30 to 9 a.m., lunch 11:30 a.m. to noon.

All the sites are closed today.

There are also free children’s activities at each location. No registration or identification is needed – just come for some fun times and kid-friendly nutritious meals.
