Athol, MA – Darien D. Brousseau, 52, passed away on January 25, 2026. Born on May 10, 1973, in Greenfield, MA, Darien spent most of his life in Athol, Massachusetts. He was known for his love of the great outdoors, and his hobbies included hunting, fishing, skydiving and skiing. He was a retired corrections officer from the Worcester County Sheriff’s Office. Beyond his professional life, Darien was a social butterfly who loved life to the fullest. He made friends easily and took great joy in the achievements of others.
Darien is survived by his sister, Susan Earley (Charles), his twin brother Andre Brousseau (Chantal), his nieces Jacqueline Liukkonen, Olivia Brousseau, Vivianne Brousseau, and his nephews Joshua Liukkonen and Jason Strong as well as his grand nephews and nieces Jack, Lucy and Zoe. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald and Lynda Brousseau, his sister Pamela Brousseau, and his nephew Andrew Strong.
Darien’s zest for life and his infectious laughter will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His memory will live on in the hearts of his loved ones and in the many stories shared about his life. The Calling Hours will be held on on Thursday, April 30, 2026 from 9:30-11:30 AM at Mack Family Funeral Homes, Athol-Orange Chapel, 110 New Athol Road, Orange, MA.
A Funeral Service will follow at 11:30 at the same location, followed by a Graveside Service at Silver Lake Cemetery, Athol, MA.
