ATHOL – Alan Levreault of Athol is the first $1 million grand prize winner in the Massachusetts State Lottery’s new “$1,000,000 Go for the Green” instant ticket game.
According to an announcement from the State Lottery, the game went on sale on Tuesday, Jan. 6. Levreault chose the cash option and received a one-time payment of $650,000 before taxes. He said he plans on investing the winnings.
Levreault purchased his winning ticket at Weatherheads Convenience Store, 63 French King Highway, Erving. The store receives a $10,000 bonus for its sale of this ticket. The “$1,000,000 Go for the Green” instant ticket includes four more instant grand prizes of $1 million.
